1pie crust
6bacon slices raw
2cupsbroccoli chopped
5eggs at room temperature
1cupwhipping cream
1cupcheddar cheese grated
½teaspoonsalt
½teaspooncracked pepper
Instructions
Allow the pre-made crust to come to room temperature per the thawing instructions provided on the pie-crust packaging.
Set the oven to pre-heat at 350° F.
Prep the pie-crust with vent holes by poking with a fork, set aside or pre-bake if the pie-crust packaging instructions says to do so.
In a large skillet, cook the bacon. Remove from the skillet and place on a paper towel lined plate.
Add the chopped broccoli florets to the same skillet and cook on medium heat until the broccoli starts to soften, for around five minutes.
In a large bowl, add the whipping cream and eggs. Whisk until well combined.
Add the cooked bacon and broccoli to the pie crust.
Pour the egg mixture over the bacon and broccoli. Add the salt and black pepper. Then sprinkle the cheese over the top.
Use a fork or small spatula to gentle mix the eggs and cheese with the other ingredients.
Place the quiche in the preheated oven on the middle rack. Bake uncovered for 35–40 minutes until the crust is golden brown and the egg mixture has set.
Remove the quiche from the oven and allow to cool for 10-15 minutes before slicing. The quiche can be served either hot or cold.
